In my second post I'll be discussing the must try food spots around the city. On social media platforms such as Tik Tok and Instagram many places have went viral turning them into must try places on your trip!

Breakfast spots:

Bubby's 

Why it’s popular: A NYC brunch staple since 1990, known for comfort food done right — pancakes, biscuits, fried chicken, and house-made pies.
Where: 120 Hudson St, Tribeca. Walk-ins only for weekend brunch.

Liberty bagels

Why it’s popular: Hand-rolled bagels, wild cream cheese flavors (try rainbow!), and stacked sandwiches. Great mix of classic NY and viral-worthy visuals.
Where: Locations at 260 W 35th St (Midtown), 32 Broadway (FiDi), and 5th Ave.


Russ and daughters cafe

Why it’s popular: A 100+ year-old appetizing legacy serving lox, bagels, and smoked fish in a stylish sit-down café. Pure NYC tradition.
Where: 127 Orchard St (café) & 179 E Houston St (original shop). No reservations — go early!


Leon's bagels

Why it’s popular: A newer bagel shop with old-school vibes — simple, solid, and perfect for a casual breakfast stop.
Where: Greenwich Village


Golden diner

Why it’s popular: Retro diner meets Asian-inspired brunch — known for honey-butter pancakes and cozy, photo-ready vibes.

Where: 123 Madison St, under the Manhattan Bridge. Go early to beat the lines.


Viral spots to try

These spots have not only captured the attention of TikTok users but have also become must-visit destinations for food enthusiasts in NYC.

Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery (NoHo, Manhattan – 380 Lafayette St): Famous for the viral “Supremê” — a round, filled croissant with flowing cream. Try seasonal Supremê croissants and classic French pastries.  


Pasta de Pasta (East Village, Manhattan – 165 1st Ave): Known for cacio e pepe served in a giant Parmesan wheel. Affordable and impressive pasta dishes.


Hamburger America (Manhattan – 118 Stanton St): Launched by burger historian George Motz, this retro-style spot is famous for smash and classic diner burgers.


Lucky Charlie (Bushwick, Brooklyn – 1302 Flushing Ave): Historic coal-fired oven pizzas with a unique char. Try Margherita and Pepperoni pies. 


Farmer in the Deli (Brooklyn – 328 Malcolm X Blvd): Viral for chopped sandwiches, especially the chopped chicken sandwich with fresh, bold flavors.


Crumbl Cookies (Nearby New Jersey – Various locations): Known for rotating weekly cookie flavors and pink boxes. Try Milk Chocolate Chip or limited editions like Churro.


Raising Cane’s (Times Square, Manhattan – 1560 Broadway): Viral for simple, tasty chicken fingers and signature Cane’s Sauce. Try the Box Combo with fries and Texas toast. 


Magnolia Bakery (West Village, Manhattan – 401 Bleecker St & Rockefeller Center, Manhattan – 1240 Avenue of the Americas): Famous since 1996, boosted by Sex and the City. Must-try banana pudding, cupcakes, cakes, and pies.
